On the point of the Suspect Bogus gas men, there have been a couple of people who have contacted us about this.
The procedure is that there should be no cold calling. The Gas company are obliged to contact the customer either by telephone or in writing, requesting an appointment for one of their representatives to call. But everyone should be aware that your personal details may be available to other people. Ask the caller to quote the details of the gas contract so that you can check it. Also ensure that if an appointment is made, make sure that the representative has proper identification and is affiliated to the gas company. It is a fact that gas installations should be checked every 5 years. But remember if you are not completely satisfied, do not let anyone onto your property, ask them for the telephone number of their office and contact their office.
